I recently had the pleasure of dining at Oyster HQ, situated on the waterfront in Coffin Bay.
Of course, we started with Coffin Bay’s famous oysters. There were so many delicious toppings to choose from, including french, gazpacho and native topped with finger lime. Each one was incredibly fresh and showcased exactly why the region is renowned for its seafood.
We opted for share plates and honestly, every single dish was exceptional and well priced too!
The pork belly was pull-apart tender and melted in your mouth. The salt and pepper squid was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with a bright, vibrant salsa verde.
The standout for me was the coq au vin. Rich, comforting and cooked to perfection, it was served alongside the most delicious rosemary-infused polenta.
Paired with a glass/2 bottles of Pike’s Riesling, it was one of those meals where every bite seemed better than the last.
To finish, I couldn’t resist the specifical a boozy “Jaffa” hot chocolate, and I’m so glad I didn’t. Chocolate, orange and just the right amount of indulgence.
The setting is just as impressive as the food. The resturant is pretty and open with high ceilings, overlooking the ocean and oyster leases.
sharing beautiful dishes with family and friends, it felt like everything came together perfectly.
I’m yet to find a meal that compares.
If Oyster HQ isn’t already on your South Australian bucket list, add it now.
I have no doubt this place packs out in the summer so I’d highly recommend booking ahead.
